Please remember that all State and Federal funds are disbursed on a first come first serve basis. The monies are disbursed quickly so please be mindful to file your FAFSA as soon as possible on or after this date.
Horatio Alger Scholarship - $2500 – Provides financial assistance to students in Illinois who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity. www.horatioalger.com Deadline: October
ACORN Equality Fund – Scholarship based on academic performance, need, volunteerism and advocacy. Designed to provide financial support for gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender students, allies or the children of gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender parents. www.acornequalityfund.org Deadline: October
American Council of Engineering Companies Illinois (ACEC-IL) – Applicant must be enrolled in an ABET program in Illinois. Apply at www.acec-il.org/scholarship.cfm
Illinois Department of Transportation Civil Engineer Program – Applicant must be an Illinois resident not employed by IDOT, must be admitted or enrolled full time in a select IL pre-engineering and civil engineering program. Must have a 2.5 GPA. Apply at www.idot.il.gov/scholarships Deadline: November
Sally Beauty Scholarships - $1,000 scholarship for high school graduate planning to pursue a degree in cosmetology. Apply at http://www.probeauty.org/competitions/ Deadline: January
AXA Achievement Scholarship – Applicants must be well-rounded and committed to making a difference. They must have demonstrated achievement in school, in extracurriculars or at a job. Apply at www.axa-achievement.com Deadline: February
Coca Cola Scholarship – Selection is based on class rank and SAT or ACT scores. Deadline is October. Apply at www.coca-colascholars.org Deadline is October.
U. S. Army Minuteman Scholarship – Covers full tuition and fees or $10,000 for room and board at any college or university served by an Army Reserve Officer’s Training Corps. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, be between the ages of 17-31, have valid MEPS physical, be currently in the Army Reserve or eligible for enlistment, have ability to pass APFT, meet AR 600-9 standards, pass MSC commander interview, professor of military science validation, have acceptance letter to college, proof of academic major and ACT or SAT scores and enroll in ROTC. APIASF Scholarship Program – Applicant must be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by U.S. Census, be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the U.S., be enrolling as an undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall of 2018, have a minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, must complete the FAFSA, and submit one letter of recommendation.
