Fitness Monopoly
January 31, 2018
Students at the middle school recently played Fitness Monopoly in PE. The gym was set up as a life-size board of the game Monopoly. Students chose their teams and got started.
When they landed on a property, they either paid rent or opted to buy the property. To pay rent, each member of the group did the exercise specified on the card. In order to buy it, their group had to split up 100 of the exercise listed on the title deed. They could then build on it with another 100 repetitions if they landed on that property again. The board had railroads that were drink breaks and even had a jail and in order to get out students completed a minute wall sit. Various points were awarded to buying properties, building on and passing go. The team with the most points will choose a game day on Friday.
