Preschool Screening and Kindergarten Round-up
West Central CUSD #235 in collaboration with ROE #33 and West Central Head Start will offer free developmental check-ups at West Central Elementary School. A developmental check-up will assess your child’s overall progress. The ESI – R test evaluates visual-motor skills, language and cognition skills, as well as gross motor skills. After your child completes the test, the results will be explained by our highly qualified staff.
When you participate in screening you can learn more about preschool options for your child. Families interested in Preschool for All must bring a certified birth certificate and proof of state benefits and/or income information. Families interested in Head Start (Full day classroom located at 199 7th St. Oquawka), must bring proof of state benefits and/or income information. All students enrolling in West Central CUSD #235 must provide a certified copy of your child’s birth certificate, a current physical that includes immunization records with lead level results, and a dental exam as part of the enrollment process. This is an opportunity to learn about your child’s development, early childhood programs in our community, and Kindergarten at West Central Elementary.
