Stephens Amendment Information

2012-2013

The Stephens Amendment requires school districts to inform the public about the use of Federal funds. What follows is a summary of the NCLB monies West Central School District is receiving for 2012-13 and the ways those funds are being used.

Title I – For FY13, we are receiving $200,976 in the Title I grant.  These monies are used to support programs schoolwide in both the elementary and middle school buildings.  These dollars pay for part of the salaries for our Title I teachers and part-time reading aides, parent involvement activities, and supplies and materials for the programs.

Title IIA – For FY13, we are receiving $56,791, in the Title IIA grant.  There are a couple of exceptions, but the main purpose of Title IIA is to provide professional development and training for staff members.  By exercising the Class size Reduction option, we are able to pay for an additional Kindergarten teacher.  The remainder of the money is used for subs and stipends for activities, trainings, tuition, consultants, registration fees, and training materials.

Title IID –  NA

Title IV  – NA
