West Central 5th grade students traveled to Stronghurst on September 14th. Students attended session on a variety of safety related topics such as: internet safety, stranger danger, farm safety, first-aid, seat-belt usage, railroad safety, and electrical safety. Last Friday I was able to take two High School and one Junior Livestock Judging teams to JWCC 15th Annual Livestock Judging contest and wanted to share results with you on their performances. West Central students took part in the Reading Postcard Program this summer. Students listed the books they read over the summer on a postcard and mailed them off to elementary teachers and staff. Many terrific stories were enjoyed during the summer months. Way to go WC students and staff!

It is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself, Kimberly Harrison, as the new Assistant Principal of West Central Elementary. I recently graduated from Western Illinois University with a Master of Science in Educational Leadership. I previously graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and have had the privilege of teaching high school mathematics for the last ten years.
