KG/1st Grade Parent Program 2023

West Central Elementary had their first Parent Program on October 2nd during the late start Monday schedule for kindergarten and 1st grade students and guests. Both programs highlighted the school Math curriculum and activities, as well as Social-Emotional skills.

Our kindergarten students and guests watched Pete the Cat Five Little Pumpkins read aloud. Next, everyone worked on a cut and paste activity with a fence and 10 pumpkins. Students then put the 10 pumpkins in order on their fence.

Our first grade students and guests watched The Arithmechicks Add Up read aloud. Next, they practiced their addition facts by playing Yard Jenga. Each wood block had an addition problem on it. Students had to solve their problem before stacking it on the top of the block tower. Our 35 guests enjoyed learning about our math curriculum and the hands-on math activities.
