WCHS DAR Good Citizen Award Recipient

February 14, 2018

The Chief Shaubena Chapter, Roseville, IL,  National Society Daughters of the American Revolution,  would like to recognize Todd Lant of West Central High School, as their 2017-2018 Good Citizen Award recipient.   Todd is the son of Heather Swisher of Stronghurst, Illinois and Jeff Lant of Burlington, Iowa.  Todd has attended West Central District throughout his entire school career.

While in high school, Todd has been involved in a variety of activities.  Some of those activities have included:  FFA, Bowling, and serving as Football Manager.  Todd has also been selected for the WCHS PRIDE award all four years and has been on the honor roll for three years.  Besides school activities,  Todd is currently employed  at Oaklane Nursing Home in the Dietary department and also assists with maintenance.  When the weather turns nice, he likes to mow yards in his hometown.  Todd can also be found spending time with his friends and his dog, Abbie.   Todd does not have a definite plan after graduation but he would like to find a job where he can use his maintenance skills and also have the opportunity to work outside.

The DAR Good Citizens Award was created in 1934 and is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of:

  • Dependability (truthfulness, honesty, punctuality, etc.)
    Service (cooperation, helpfulness, responsibility, etc.)
    Leadership (personality, self-control, initiative, etc.)
Patriotism (unselfish loyalty to American ideals)

Todd will be recognized by the Chief Shaubena Chapter at their meeting on March 13, 2018.  Congratulations to Todd on this well-deserved recognition.
