NHS Induction Ceremony 2019

NHS induction was held on Monday at 7pm in the high school gym with eight new members being presented.  The music was provided by Mrs. Lorraine Foelske on piano, with music played being inspired by this year's WCHS musical "Beauty and the Beast".  The featured speaker for the evening was Mr. Tucker, WCHS Assistant Principal.  He reminded students that leadership is not a title, but rather shown through daily activities.  He also spoke about the pride each student should have in the accomplishments they have achieved, and encouraged them to continue to work hard to reach goals in the future, and gave them a reminder that "every storm runs out of rain".  Mr. Kirby, WCHS principal,  congratulated each member and his or her parents, and Mrs. Markey, West Central Superintendent, ended the program with a reminder of the definition of character.  She reminded the group that the true measure of character comes in the times when no one is watching.

Refreshments were provided by the Family and Consumer Science Department, and punch was served by school board president, Mrs. Jodi Arnold.  Congratulations to all new inductees to the West Central chapter of the National Honor Society.
