The 2025 March Book Madness Competition was a slam dunk! Students were introduced to 8 awesome fiction and 8 terrific non-fiction books which were part of this year’s Illinois Monarch Book List.
Students read/listened to the books or watched a read aloud video, then they voted on which was their favorite. The competition heated up with the final four round between The Invasion of the Unicorns by David Biedrzycki and Lou by Breanna Carzoo. Invasion of the Unicorns pulled it off with a 2% point spread. However, the book lost out in the final round of competition.
Beating out all the other books, was the fiction book winner, Grandpa Grumps by Katrina Moore. While the non-fiction winner was Wildfire! by Ashley Wolff. Students had tons of fun reading and hearing many GOAT (Greatest of All Time) stories!
