*UPDATE* Becca Hinshaw placed 18th in the 50 Yard Free. She missed state by 2 places or 0.1 seconds.
She has made incredible progress and has already qualified for the YMCA Nationals next spring!
Becca Hinshaw will be competing in the IHSA Girls Swimming and Diving State Championship on Friday, November 14th at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, IL!!
Becca competed in the IHSA Girls Diving & Swimming Sectionals in Pekin last Saturday and had a phenomenal performance!
In her first event, the 50 Yard Free, Becca crushed the competition:
- She placed first, officially earning a run at State on Friday! 🥇
- She achieved a lifetime best time! ⏰
- She broke a pool record that had stood since 1999! 🔥
Becca also showed incredible heart in her second event, the 100 Yard Free, where she placed 3rd and only missed the state cutoff time by a heartbreaking 0.01 seconds.
