Learning Platforms

During the 2020-2021 school year, Pre-K - 3rd grade students and staff will use Seesaw as their learning platform, and 4th-12th grade students and staff will use Google Classroom. Google Meet and Zoom may also be used as video conferencing platforms. Teachers will use these platforms for their remote learners as well as their in-person instruction students. By using them for both, it will assist in the transition to full remote learning should it become necessary to do so. Most of our students have been trained on their respective platforms and/or will receive additional training on it at the start of school.

Successfully educating students requires a partnership between home and school. In order for parents/guardians to be able to assist their child(ren) and to be able to monitor their child(ren)'s assignments, we will be sharing a variety of training resources for parents to learn more about these learning platforms. Some are created by our own staff, and I would like to express my appreciation to them for creating them and making them available to our parents/guardians. The training tools can be found on our District website under Parent Resources or by clicking the following link: https://www.wc235.k12.il.us/vnews/display.v/SEC/District%7CParent%20Resources.

If you have any questions with regard to these learning platforms, please start by contacting your child's teacher via email.

Blessings,

Paula Markey
Superintendent
