5th Grade Kindness Club

2025-2026 School Year

May 08, 2026

The 5th-grade Kindness Club at West Central Elementary School recently completed a meaningful community service project at the Henderson County Health Department.

Under the expert organization and guidance of Mrs. Sharon Graham, the students spent the day giving back to the community through a variety of meaningful tasks. The young volunteers worked hard to plant flowers, clean and organize the food pantry, shred paper, and sort through brochures and BINGO prizes.

Beyond their physical labor, the students had the unique opportunity to speak with and interview several senior citizens and employees. These interactions provided a beautiful bridge between generations, allowing the students to learn from the experiences of others while sharing their own youthful energy.

The feedback received was truly heartening. Both the staff at the Health Department and the senior citizens were incredibly impressed—not only by the students' work ethic but also by their exemplary behavior and respectful attitudes.

We are so proud of our Kindness Club for representing our school with such compassion and dedication. A special thank you to Mrs. Graham for making this impactful day possible.
